A German hunting hanger, middle of the 19th century Straight single-edged blade, blued for half its length and decorated with etched and gilt trophies. Gold-plated hilt with straight quillons, the guard displays a hunting horn and boar spear within an oak leaves wreath. Lion head pommel, ivory grip plates. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with gilt fittings, by-knife missing. Blade is stained, with very beautiful gilding.
