The Madeira river is approximately 2, 100 miles long and the longest tributary of Amazon where tourists can take a boat trip living onboard. They are based on a traditional river boat where you sleep on the deck in hammocks and take small traditional canoes so that you can navigate along the narrow tributaries. All of this area is primary rainforest.
