A Knight's Cross of the War Merit Cross of 1939 in Gold,Gold-plated silver,the edges and raised areas polished.Smooth,closed suspension ring,the lower cross-arm punched "900" and "20"(for Zimmermann,Pforzheim).Typical shallow,roughly de-burred Zimmermann issue.Dimensions ca.53 x 59.8 mm,weight 30.5 g.With a ribbon segment ca.80 mm in length(Nie 7.04.01).The gold class was instituted on 8 July 1944 and only produced in very small numbers.Just two bestowals are known to have occurred.This example comes from the awards hoard hidden by the Orders ,Additional-Rights-Clearences-Not Available
