The ABA Memorial at Runnymede was inaugurated in 1957. From that time representatives of the ABA have visited and rededicated the memorial. The more formal ceremonies have been marked by the laying and unveiling of inscribed stones in the plinth surrounding the central pillar. Such stones have been laid on 18th July 1971, 13th July 1985, 15th July 2000 and on the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta on 15th June 2015.
