More information:

Afon Glaslyn, flowing through the scenic Aberglaslyn Pass (Bwlch Aberglaslyn in Welsh) in North Wales. A scenic steep sided valley / gorge in Snowdonia (Eryri), Gwynedd, North Wales. Within the boundaries of Snowdonia National Park (Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri), it is popular with tourists, canoists and walkers with a riverside path. A narrow gauge railway which linked Caernarfon and Porthmadog, abandoned long ago was rebuilt in recent years for tourists to experience one of the most scenic routes in Wales - The West Highland Railway. The source of Afon Glaslyn is Llyn Glaslyn high in the Snowdon Horseshoe where is flows into a lower lake, Llyn Llydaw, before either tumbling down waterfalls into the Gwynant Valley or fed into Cwm Dyli hydroelectric power station. The river passes through Llyn Gwynant and Llyn Dinas before reaching Beddgelert and the Aberglaslyn Pass. Afon Llan flows off Snowdon to join Afon Glaslyn and Afon Colwyn flows from Rhyd Ddu area to join Afon Glaslyn in Beddgelert.
