Airship 'Deutschland' before a test trip, 1896. In 1879, Georg Baumgarten began to design an airship. After his death (1883) the work was continued by Dr. Woelfert. The first trip of the 'Deutschland' took place on 06/05/1896. During a navigation test on 06.12.1897, there was an explosion in the airship, wherein Dr. Woelfert suffered a fatal accident., 06.05.1896-12.06.1897
