Designer Mark Oldroyd put the finnishing touches to the 'Battle Bonfire Boyes' bonfire society's giant effigy of US Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in Battle, East Sussex November 1, 2008. The effigy also features Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama, cowering in a tin hat, peppered with bullet holes. It will then be carried through the medieval streets to Senlac Hill, where William defeated Harold in 1066 and ceremoniously blown up.
