ANGER ROOM Dallas citizens with anger management issues can smash away their stress at the Anger Room. Baseball bat clasping customers pay between 5 to 5 to enter the "destruction room" and obliterate the entire contents of a room filled with inanimate objects - donated or discovered furniture and office equipment. Owner Donna Alexander had the idea for an Anger Room as a 16 year-old, witnessing fighting and violence in a tough neighbourhood of Chicago and concluding it would be good if people had a place for them to take out their frustrations. She started the Anger Room in her garage whilst working at a Dallas restaurant in 2008. Initially for friends and family, soon the word got out with enquiring strangers even showing up on her doorstep. The website angerroom.com carries a disclaimer stating that the business is for entertainment and not therapy and It took three years to find a landlord prepared to rent rent her space. For those who frequent the Anger Room and are regularly to be found have a smashing time . . . It was certainly worth the aggro.
