Arisa or Arisalu is a Dravidian Telugu word which means rice.The dough is kneaded in a similar way to poori or chapatti. The flattened rice chapatti or poori is deep-fried in oil.Decorated with gingelly or sesame seeds. Served during the Ugadi and Makara Sankranti festivals in Andhra Pradesh.
