The wider egg end exposed to the light reveals the sharp demarcation between the air space, the shell and the embryo or developing chick, young bird, uppermost in this picture. Establishing that the egg is fertile and about three quarters the way through to full incubation period, which in this species, Red-breasted Goose, is nineteen days. Full term will be twenty five days.
