This aircraft was nicknamed The Goon and the nose art was painted by Sgt Eugene Townsend who has an interesting entry on the 32nd Bomb Squadron website. Note the Captain's name under the cockpit. At this time the Squadron was based in Tunisia. Serial number 124407 the aircraft went on to fly 48 missions with the 32nd and here had completed 36 with 2 ship sinkings to its credit.
