This bird, trichoglossus haematodus, photographed in the wild, is a common species in some areas of Australia, and if often seen in large and noisy flocks. The bird was feeding on the flowers of an Australian native corkwood tree, Melicope elleryana syn. Euodia elleryana, which is growing in the photographer's extensive bushland garden.
