Burscough Bridge railway station in Lancashire with passengers waiting on the eastbound platform for a train from Southport heading for Wigan and beyond. The east bound platform has Victorian station buildings dating from the station's opening in 1855. To reflect the station's importance in commuter traffic, a new bus interchange building has been built on the westbound platform. Though not a large town, Burscough has a further railway station, Burscough Junction, which serves the Liverpool to Preston line.
