The headspring of this river in North Central Florida is unmatched among Florida's springs for beauty and clarity of its crystal clear waters. It is a first magnitude spring issuing 600 million gallons of crystal clear water a day, and is the 4th largest in Florida. The river runs for 5.7 miles to Dunnellon where it merges with the Withlacoochee River.
