Carlo Gesualdo, Prince of Venosa. 1560-1613. In painting with his uncle Carlo Borromeo. Gesualdo is kneeling figure. Painting hangs in Gesualdo, Santa Maria delle Grazie church (Convento dei Frati Cappuccini). Thought to be an altarpiece from 1609 by Giovanni Balducci, titled 'Il Perdono di Gesualdo' .Composer and lutenist. Assassinated 1st wife and her lover in 1590. Stravinsky in 1960 orchestrated 3 of Gesualdo's madrigals to mark 400th anniversary. Colourised. Madrigal
