More information:

Charlotte Hotel in Groveland, a pioneer gold rush town on Route 120 near Yosemite National Park, California, USA. Groveland is conveniently situated on Highway 120, 26 miles from the entrance to Yosemite National Park on the route from San Francisco. It is home to the Iron Door Saloon, claimed to be California's oldest continuously operating saloon. The town was originally known as Savage's Diggings, when James Savage found gold there in 1848. In 1850 the name became Garotte but by 1875 citizens changed the name to Groveland. JMH5270
