One of the highlights at the Cheshire Show is the Eleventh English Open Chainsaw Carving Competition. Talented chainsaw artists from around the globe converge in one of our fields and spend the three days creating masterpieces from logs of wood. And the good news is that the masterpieces are auctioned off on the Monday afternoon which is an opportunity to grab a real bargain for garden or conservatory. If a huge piece is not wanted, twice a day they hold speed carves, where they can create masterpieces in just half an hour – again auctioned off as soon as they’ve finished by auctioneer Mr Quint Hughes.
