The Chilean Guava originates from Chile, however the fruit is sometimes sold as 'Ugniberry', in New Zealand as the 'New Zealand Cranberry' and in Australia as the 'Tazziberry'. It was popular in England during the 19th Century and was said to be Queen Victoria's favourite fruit, but has only recently started to be grown again for it's fruit, as before this it was only thought of as an ornamental plant.
