The prancing horse is the familiar emblem of Ferrari. Originally it was the symbol used by Italy's World War I heroic flying ace Francesco Baracca. In 1923, Enzo Ferrari met Countess Paolina, Baracca's mother. She suggested to Enzo that he used her son's symbol on his racing cars to bring him luck.
