Coretta Scott King (R) widow of Martin Luther King Jr. speaks with Betty Shabazz (L), widow of Malcolm X at Riverside Church in New York City in February 1995. The meeting was arranged to end the feud between them stemming from the different ideologies of their late husbands. Shabazz died on June 23, 1997 at 61 after being overcome in a fire at her home set by her grandson. King has been admitted to an Atlanta hospital for undisclosed reasons. (© Frances M. Roberts)
