Detail from the College grounds behind Durham Cathedral. The College is the name given to the Cathedral Close and green behind Durham Cathedral. The College contains a number buildings some of which date back to medieval times. The buildings serve a variety of functions including homes for clergy and official functions. The Chorister School is also located within the Cathedral Close and this image shows a lamp and hanging basket at the entrance to the Chorister School.
