A Sempergreen sedum covered vegetation blanket for green roofs on display at the Netherlands NY400 exhibit in New York on Friday, September 4, 2009. Sedum is an Alpine plant able withstand extreme weather, drought, poor soil with little no organic matter, full sun, snow cover, etc. The green roof is supplied in blankets and mats that can just be rolled out and secured making installation very easy. A green roof offers environmental benefits including insulation to reduce heating and cooling costs, reduction of storm water runoff and filtering the air by absorbing carbon dioxide and giving off oxygen.
