After Korzharnenko lost her gold medal because of doping, Cumba from Cuba will take the gold medal, Germany's Kleinert will get the silver medal and Russia's Svetlana Krivelyova bronze, it was reported 23 August 2004. The shot put competition was held at Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympics, and was meant to be a showpiece of the Games.
