Hehemann, 29, took the first medal for Germany winning bronze in the middle weight category. Sumo wrestling is one of the 40 non-Olympic sports that are featured at the sports event, which runs from 15 July to 24 July 2005 in the Ruhr Basin towns of Duisburg, Bottrop, Oberhausen and Muelheim an der Ruhr. Around 3, 500 athletes from 100 nations compete for medals and a place on the podium.
