During train line track refurbishment, reinstatement and extension for transport of iron ore from mine to port - locally employed Sierra Leoneans from company's Emergency Response Team (in Makeni area) undergo instruction and training on various rescue techniques. These include using a simulation or dummy model of a patient trapped under a large tree using pneumatic lifting and stabilization equipment and also, an exercise using rope rescue techniques on a railway embankment. Part of company community development programme as well as health and safety training.
