23rd November 2012 marked the opening of its thirteenth branch of Metro Bank in Reading on. In 2010, Metro became the first high-street challenger to the major UK banks in a century. The bank prides itself on convenience for customers, with branches open during evenings and weekends, and some Bank Holidays. Metro anticipates that new branches in Watford, Ealing, Staines-upon-Thames, Epsom and Hemel Hempstead will open soon.
