Todai-ji, Translated as the "Great Eastern Temple" is a Buddhist temple complex in Nara Japan. The main building dubbed "Great Buddha Hall" is the largest wooden building in the world and houses the worlds largest Buddha Vairocana statue. The Great Buddha Hall dates from the 8th Century but the current structure dates from 1709 and is 30% smaller than it's predecessor.
