File dated August 31, 1961 of German tanks, loaded on heavy transporters, thundering through the streets of Pembroke, South Wales, en route to Castlemartin camp. German Panzer tank crews are today (Tuesday) leaving behind one of their old Mk 1 Leopard tanks to mark the end of their 35-year peaceful occupation of training ranges at Castlemartin, Pembrokeshire. The tank was unveiled at the West Wales base as British Army and German Federal Army top brass gathered for a parade, church service, and a final farewell. See PA Story DEFENCE Tank.
