Forest fire smoke & ash changes the previously blue / green waters of Vermillion Lake, Banff National Park, Canada. The nearby forest fire left the lakes un recognisable as they changed from a lovely blue / green to a more brown colour and the sky became full of smoke & haze. Picture taken from the Trans Canada Highway overlooking Vermillion Lakes near Banff town, brown smoke & ash filled the sky from Saturday night onwards, by Sunday the lake had completely changed colour. Motorists stopped to look in disbelief at the drastic change to the lake. Fire believed to have started in Verdant Creek
