Former Harland & Wolff Foundry building in Strand Road, Bootle, Harland & Wolff built ships for the White Star Lines shipping company. As the dock trade moved to the nearby container port of Seaforth, the docks of Liverpool and surrounding area of warehousing and service industries also fell into decline.
