George Smart, 74, attends Highbury Corner Magistrates Court, London, where he received a two month suspended prison sentence and was banned from owning pets for life, after he threw a puppy from a sixth floor flat after his wife asked him to find it a new home. Smart of central London, admitted one count of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal on January 1, after Susie, a nine-month-old black Labrador cross plunged more than 100ft to the ground after being thrown off the balcony of Smart's then apartment in Camden, north London.
