German Navy frigate 'Hessen' leaves the naval base Wilhelmshaven, Germany, 19 February 2008. Frigate 'Hessen' takes over the command ship role from frigate 'Bayern' in the UNIFIL mission off the Lebanon coast. Defense Ministry spokesman Stempfle reported on Wednesday that the warship had already sighted a drone in the area of operation on Monday, which initially could not be assigned to any of the allied nations. The 'Hessen' then attempted to shoot down the drone, but was unsuccessful.
