Glastonbury, Somerset, U.K. December 1st 2012 Glastonbury Tor in distance and the remains of the Holy Thorn Tree, on Wearyall Hill, on a cold frosty misty morning. This tree is associated with legends about Joseph of Arimathea and arrival of Christianity in Britain. Its branches were cut down in an act of vandalism on December 9th 2010. Every December a sprig of thorns from this tree was sent to the Queen to be used as a table decoration on Christmas Day. The Queen now receives a sprig from another Glastonbury thorn tree.Christianity, flooded Somerset Levels.Popular area for dog walkers.
