More information:

The Greenland Fishery in Bridge Street, King's Lynn, was built for John Akin in 1605. He was a merchant and mayor of the town. It was used as a public house for sailors in the whaling industry, important in the town at the end of the eighteenth and beginning of the nineteenth centuries, hence the name by which it is still known.
