The Royal Navy ship HMS Nottingham arrives in Portsmouth on the back of Dutch heavy lifting ship MV Swan. The battered vessel has been brought back for 26 million of repairs after it sustained hull damage when it ran aground off Australia earlier this year. *..The Type-42 destroyer hit rocks and holed her hull from bow to bridge at Lord Howe Island in July. 11/9/03: The ship's commanding officer, Commander Richard Farrington, and three of his former colleagues are facing a court martial at Portsmouth. The 300 million Type 42 destroyer ran on to rocks off Lord Howe Island, Australia, on July 7 last year, ripping a 100ft scar down its side. 24/04/04: The Royal Navy warship which almost sank when it hit rocks off Australia is to return to the sea for the first time, after the completion of repairs costing 39 million.
