Protected only by inertia on the part of wary foreign developers, it is scheduled for demolition to make way for a more profitable high-rise. Morphogenesis of the Green Line / Lebanese Civil War 1975-1991.'' In Beirut the destruction took twenty one years, sixteen years of war plus five of demolition, and the reconstruction is expected to take thirty.
