Each year on November the 5th the town in Lewes in East Sussex, UK is visited by thousands of people to watch the annual torch light procession. The event is organised by the local bonfire societies and brings the town to a standstill. Each society walks through the town holding flaming torches and letting off fire crackers to mark the date of the uncovering of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605.
