London, UK. 16th March, 2015. As London’s Royal Botanical Gardens prepares for the Easter rush and summer season, Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, joins Kew apprentices, diploma students, and renowned Kew horticulturist Carlos Magdalena to plant young Victoria Amazonica waterlilies, colourful hybrid waterlilies and lotus plants in the Princess of Wales Conservatory. Carlos Magdalena is known as the ‘Plant Messiah’ for his ability to propagate rare plant species that are on the edge of extinction. The waterlillies will reach their peak in July.
