An abandoned wartime fort at the Red Sands in the Thames estuary. These Maunsell forts were constructed in the early 1940's during WW2 and had guns and searchlights on originally. They were designed by Guy Maunsell, and can be seen from the shore at Whitstable in Kent. This is a close up of the Bofors 40mm AA tower, a 3.7in AA tower is partially obscured to the right, and behind to the left is the searchlight tower.
