The oberon class submarine Okanagan, built for the Royal Canadian Navy, enters the water at her launch from Chatham Dockyard, Kent. She was named by Madame Cadieux, wife of the Associate Minister of National Defence for Canada. Okanagan is the third and last of the present series of Oberon class submarines built for Canada. She will be ready for service in about a year.
