February 21, 2018 - Munich, Bavaria, Germany - (photo: Sachelle Babbar) Approximately two dozen protestors assembled to demonstrate against the appearance of guest speaker Michael Ragg at the St. Korbinian church in Munich. Under the title of “Marriage for Everyone- the largest west European Mistake†(“Ehe fuer alle- der grosse west-europaeische Irrwegâ€Â), the St. Korbinian Church of Munich invited controversial Michael Ragg to speak to its constituents against the landmark move made by Germany in June of 2017 and made effective on October 1st, allowing marriage rights to same-sex couples. Ragg is considered to be an ultra-fundamentalist Catholic who has been linked to fake news, along with claiming that the vote took place nearly without consultation of society. He furthermore has links to Christa Meves, an author with a right-radical/conservative background...Research has shown that the invitation was made by Hartmut Benk, the head of the Priesthood (Pfarrgemeinderatsvorsitzenden) via its Catholic Adult Education program. Others in the priesthood are attempting to distance themselves..Due to public outcry, the ChurchDespite the vote, Angela Merkel remains an opponent of the so-called “Ehe fuer Alle†vote.
