New Ferry, Wirral, UK. 10th April, 2017. The scene of the recent massive gas explosion has now been handed over from Merseyside Police to WIrral Borough Council. The cleanup operation commences and, for the first time, residents and business owners are being allowed into the area to retrieve belongings, of which a great many clothes and personal effects are strewn across the scene. The damage is so great, that a lot of the buildings will need to be demolished and rebuilt. © Paul Warburton
