Outgoing Bavarian Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber (R) and Bavarian Minister of Economy Erwin Huber (L) hold a model of a Transrapid train in his hands as Stoiber opens his last cabinet meeting in Munich, Germany, 25 September 2007. Stoiber hands his office to his successor, current Bavarian Minister of Interiors Guenther Beckstein, after reigning Germany's Free State of Bavaria for 14 years. As his last achievement made, the financing of the very first commercially operated Transrapid track is clinched. To have the long-fought-for Transrapid operate the route Munich Airport-Munich Downtown, the three parties Bavaria, the Deutsche Bahn and the relevant industry held a meeting to close the money gap in the 1.85 billion euro project on late 24 September.
