Paula Radcliffe after smashing the world half-marathon record, at the BUPA Great North Run, Newcastle. Taking the 13.1-mile race by the scruff of the neck when the starting pistol sounded, Radcliffe covered the distance in an amazing time of 65 minutes 40 seconds. The stunning performance was four seconds under the previous mark set by Susan Chepkemei two years ago.
