The Mahamastakabisheka Festival, which is held once every twelve years at Shravanabelagola, Karnataka, India. The statue of Gomateshvara (Lord Bahubali), a Jain saint (tirthankar), is anointed with a variety of liquids and powders during the festival. The temple at Shravanabelagola is an important pilgrimage site for members of the Jain religion. Approximately 3 million pilgrims attended the Mahamastakisheka Festival of 2006.
