Lord Stonham, formerly Victor John Collins and one of the first 14 life peers and peeresses to be created, pictured with his sponsors when he was introduced at a special sitting of the House of Lords. His sponsors are Lord MacPherson of Drumochter (r) and Lord Wise (l). Lord Stonham had represented Shoredith and Finsbury as Socialist Member in the House of Commons since 1954.
