The Quabbin Reservoir was created in the 1930's and 40's. It is the main source of fresh water for approximately two million residents of eastern Massachusetts. This image was taken inside Quabbin Park in Ware and Belchertown Massachusetts. The Reservoir is managed by the Division of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) of Massachusetts and owned by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. This image shows the rental fishing boats being stored at the Administration area inside Quabbin Park, during the winter. Heavily controlled fishing is allowed during the late summer on the northern part of the Reservoir.
