St Peter's Church, Stanton Low, Milton Keynes.More information:
Remains of St Peter's Church at Stanton Low. The church became famous in April 1909, when the Reverend 'Joey' Guest discovered that St Jame's had never been solemised which meant that approx 800 parishioners had married illegally in the unlicenced St Jame's since its opening in 1964. Such was the local and national consternation that the Home Secretary had to make a special order validating all marriages.
