As casualties come back to the dressing stations after heavy fighting in the Libyan offensive, one medical unit found itself in immediate need of more blood for transfusion purposes. There was a Royal Australian Air Force squadron nearby. A call for their help was made, and every man in the required blood group volunteered as a donor.
