Rear Admiral Timothy Lawrence (left to right), Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Prince William watch the annual National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph, London, held in tribute to Britain's war dead, including the 21 service personnel who have lost their lives in Iraq this year. William attended the event for the first time and came as British troops are under fire in Iraq. Other senior Royals, political leaders, headed by Prime Minster Tony Blair, and some 9, 000 veterans from 20th-century conflicts also attended the commemoration.
